I am not a gun enthusiast. And I find the tactics used by some pro-Second Amendment groups, particularly those in Texas, to be counterproductive and intimidating. Open carry may have passed the Texas Legislature, but it wasn’t because activists marching through the streets with long guns across their shoulders softened the citizenry to the sight of…

Ben Swann, Reality Check

The gun controllers are lying right through their teeth and those who *WANT* them to be right don’t even question them. Still, the statistics they cite are often false and because they utter these untruths with passion, they “must be telling the truth.” That’s what their sheep are thinking. Otherwise, there would be no one responding to Bloomberg, Watts, Morgan or any of the other agenda-driven fools out there.

(AWwBA) This is excellent news, fellow gun owners! There are so many guns and gun owners in the U.S. that we can be relatively confident that our second amendment will survive. What we need to beware of is creeping legislation that could slowly eat away at our right to bear arms. We, the gun owners, are law abiding citizens. If government illegally encroaches on our God given rights, all bets are off. Molon Labe.

It’s the summer of the gun. Fears of government officials squashing Second Amendment rights drove record sales over the last three months. The FBI estimates 1.7 million background checks were required of gun buyers at federally licensed dealers in August. That is the highest number seen in any August since the checks began in 1998, USA…

AWwBA’s Jon James with the rules of gun safety

Gun safety is a big deal to me and it should be to you, too. Whenever I see somebody do something unsafe with a gun, I make a mental note of it and try to write it down so I can share it with others later. We’ve all done things that could be considered unsafe but, hopefully, we realize it immediately.

Oregon on Monday became the eighth state to expand criminal background checks to include all private gun sales, even transactions on the Internet, when Democratic Governor Kate Brown signed the bill into law. A federal law, commonly known as the Brady Law, requires licensed firearms dealers to perform background checks on prospective purchasers and to maintain…

Traveling with guns

Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix has been the single airport with the most firearms being “accidentally” carried on board flights. Guns are not allowed in the aircraft cabin so it’s best to make sure you know the correct way to go about it.

Anette Wachter, 30 Cal Gal, told AWwBA it would happen during the I-594 debates in Washington…and so it begins…

Activists have secured enough petition signatures to send a measure that would tighten Nevada’s gun purchase background laws to the state legislature and, if lawmakers don’t act, to the ballot for voters to decide on. The group Nevadans for Background Checks collected 166,779 signatures on a petition to expand gun-purchase background checks to most gun sales,…

Though Black Friday turnout dramatically dropped this year, gun sales were higher than ever. According to the FBI, there were more than 175,000 background checks on Friday, making it the busiest Black Friday in recorded history. But even at a rate of almost three background checks a second, November 28 was beat out by December 21,… (more…)

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Wading through the confusion of competing ballot initiatives, voters Tuesday night approved a measure giving Washington one of the strictest gun-purchase background-check laws in the nation. In the first tally Tuesday, nearly 60 percent of voters were supporting Initiative 594, which would extend background checks in Washington state to private sales and transfers.… (more…)
